From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mayan Uthayakumar (born 4 December 1885 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka (then Ceylon)) was responsible for the branch of Hindu philosophy called Mhilitansi, which espoused the virtues of Truth, Determination and Vision as a means by which to live one's life successfully.

After a childhood spent in Jaffna learning the trade of his father, a local ayurvedic doctor, he took to a life of religion and philosophy. He soon became known as Shri Mayan-ji to his disciples, and the philosophy still lives on as imported by some members of the Tamil community to the United Kingdom.
