May long weekend

The May Long Weekend, as it's known in Alberta, a long-standing Canadian tradition, by statuatory holiday rules celebrate's Victoria Day. The holiday falls on or before Monday the 24th of May. More generally and as practised by Albertans, the May Long Weekend is the first weekend of outdoor activities across the country. This is usually the first weekend campsites open for the season, though many times there is still snow on the ground and ice on the lakes in parts of the Rocky Mountains.

There are many ways Canadians celebrate the May Long Weekend, including camping), mountain biking, RVing, gardening, spring cleaning, and more.
