May 1st Reboot is an international unified reinvigoration of the World Wide Web that occurs yearly on May 1st at 2PM GMT as stated in the guidelines of the event. Web designers and authors, many entering the world of Web Design online for the first time, take part in this event.[1]

The continuity "Reboot" was conceived in 2000 by James Widegren, and has taken place every year since 2000 except in 2003.

Judges for the Reboot have been leaders in the web industry such as the Web Guru Colin Moock[2] and Jeffrey Zeldman, lecturer and author on web design.[3]

There were 1472 Reboot Sign-Ups in 2005[4] and 964 in 2006.[5] The drop in Reboot Sign-Ups from 2005 to 2006 coincided with the 2005 launch of Css reboot.

The Reboot [6] tradition continues now in 2007.
