From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. You might like to start by reading the tutorial and introducing yourself at the new users page. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Two useful tips are that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) and you can preview your changes before you save using the show preview button. You can regularly find new tips on the Community Portal. I look forward to reading your great articles and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. :)

P.S. if you're interested, a bunch of us have got together at Wikipedia:Australian wikipedians' notice board in order to coordinate filling some of Wikipedia's holes in Australian topics - feel free to drop by sometime. Ambi 08:38, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Hitxtrapfss.jpg

What licence is Image:Hitxtrapfss.jpg which you uploaded licenced under? Somebody in the WWW 00:22, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I'm going to have to put this in the "Potentially unfree images" category if I can't find out what licence it's under. Somebody in the WWW 10:59, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Sturt Highway images

You uploaded some images appearing on the Sturt Highway article and labeled them public domain; Specifically Image:Gawler-Main North Rd1.jpg and Image:Sturt Hwy11.jpg. They seem to be copyright unless permission is sought. Did you seek permission? The disclaimer at http://www.hotkey.net.au/~krool/photos/disclaimer.htm says they are copyright but can be used if permission first sought. They should not be tagged as PD - the photographer has not released them into the public domain. You need to confirm the licence or release them as copyright used with permission. The information page should assert when you sought permision and confirm it was granted. Non-free use tags can be found at Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#General_non-free_licenses. I appreciate that image tagging has evolved significantly since you uploaded the image a year ago. My comments also apply to other similar images uploaded. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Busway3.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Busway3.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 10:41, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Sturthighwayroute.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Sturthighwayroute.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Iamunknown 19:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
