My thoughts on wikipedia (the short version):
- Wikipedia is a very different encyclopedia - it has over 500,000 editors who continually change and develop it; it has far more scope and far more articles than any publication in human history; and it is a place for mass dialogue, argument and social interaction.
- Needs complete ownership and control (including hardware/server) by Wikimedia Foundation (as a non-profit knowledge resource owned and controlled by its contributors)
- Much more accountability of administrators, Arbcom, Bureaucrats, Stewards, and Developers (i don't agree with "This should be no big deal") - see social class
- Jimbo Wales needs to give up all excess ownership and control. - now this should be no big deal!
- It should be recognised for being the democratic, international organisation that it is.
Sudoku is a sorry distraction from life.. who is behind this assault on leisure time?
