Maxine Allen

Maxine Allen is an American bowler specializing in duckpin bowling. Allen attended the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now known as University of North Carolina at Greensboro) from 1931 until 1935.
In 1952, Allen was the number one ranked female duckpin bowler in the country. She won several tournaments, including the United States Classic, the Dixie Classic and the National Duckpin Bowling Congress All Events Championship. Allen was inducted into the National Duckpin Bowling Congress Hall of Fame for superior performance in 1962. The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame inducted her in 1972. In 2006 she was inducted into the Guilford County's Sports Hall of Fame.
