'Introduction

Maxilian Chan Yu Shu is a contestant in Project Superstar Season 2. She is best known for having a "barbie" voice that made her stand out of the other contestants. She was also known to be one of the dark horses of the competition. She was nicknamed "Mao Mao".

When Maxilian got to the top 24, she gained 28 points from the judges, lowest of the 6 girls. However she managed to get into the top 16, edging out Veron Yang, and Magdelene Yang. Next, she was placed with Charlotte Loh, Tan Diya(eventual female winner), and Carrie Yeo(eventual female runner-up). She once again scored the lowest out of the 4, this time with a lower score of 26.5 points. Many expected her to be ousted this time. However she managed to outvote Carrie Yeo(29.5 points)and Charlotte Loh(30 points) to join Tan Diya(31.5 points) in Semi-finals! Carrie Yeo was then revived to the semi-finals. During the semi-finals, she scored an even lower score of 26 points. The judges comment that during the dance item, the background performers danced better than her and garnered more attention from the audience. The next night, she was eliminated.

She being a black horse is attributed to the fact that she had a large fan base.
