Max Venable

William McKinley Venable (aka Max) (born June 6, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona) was an outfielder/designated hitter with a 12-year career from 1979-1987,1989-1991. He played for the San Francisco Giants, Montreal Expos and Cincinnati Reds, all of the National League, and the California Angels of the American League. He is currently the hitting coach of the Lake Elsinore Storm.
Big Max's son Will is an outfielder in the San Diego Padres organization, having played baseball and basketball for Princeton University. In 2006, he played for the West Oahu CaneFires in the Hawaii Winter Baseball League.
Max's 1987 Topps card features him standing with arms akimbo. It is currently valued at several cents.
