Max Gittings

Max Gittings is a musician originally from London, UK, but now generally resides in Birmingham. He was trained in music at Pimlico School on the Specialist Musician Scheme and at the University of Birmingham where he gained his BMus(Hons). He is primarily a flautist, specialising in a variety of flutes, including the Western concert flute and various Chinese and Irish flutes and whistles, such as the penny whistle, recorder, low whistle, dizi and bawu. However, he also plays the piano and saxophone. He currently works in various bands, including The Destroyers, Mooncoin and The Surge.

He is often asked to collaborate with bands, including Sid Peacock, and plays for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon and London. He teaches Western and folk flute both in Schools and privately.
