Max Gail (born April 5, 1943) is an American actor who has starred in television and film roles. He was born in Detroit and raised in Grosse Ile, Michigan.

Max Gail was a teacher at the prestigious University Liggett School before becoming an actor. He is best known for his role as Det. Stan "Wojo" Wojeciehowicz from the TV sitcom Barney Miller. Gail's best known feature film role is in D.C. Cab (1983) as Harold, the owner of the D.C. Cab taxi company. He recently had a lead role as Grandpa Jack in the film Tillamook Treasure.
Gail has starred in other TV series, including Whiz Kids (1983) as "Llewellan Farley, Jr.", and in the short-lived Normal Life (1990). He currently appears on Sons & Daughters (2006).
Gail has made many guest appearances on TV shows, including Cannon, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, The Streets of San Francisco, and The Drew Carey Show.
Gail runs Full Circle, a production company which has done documentaries on such subjects as Agent Orange, Native Americans, and nuclear issues.

Max Gail's first wife, Willie Bier, died of cancer in 1986; they had a daughter, India. He and his second wife, Nan, have two children. Gail has a twin sister, actress Mary Gail.
