The Mawddwy Railway was a rural line in the Dovey Valley in mid-Wales that connected Cemmaes Road and the Cambrian Railway with Dinas Mawddwy.
Despite a length of only 6¾ miles there were three intermediate stations at Cemmaes, Aberangell (where it linked to the Hendre-Ddu Tramway) and Mallwyd.
The railway had a chequered history originally opening in 1867 but closing to passengers in 1901 and closing completely in 1908. In 1911 it re-opened as a light railway but closed to passengers in 1931 by which time it was part of the Great Western Railway; it survived as a freight line into nationalisation, but British Railways closed it finally in July 1951.
