Mavie Hörbiger

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mavie Hörbiger (* November 14, 1979) is a German and Austrian actress (she owns both passports).

She did not complete college but visited the acting school of Christa Willschrei in Munich.

In 1996 she made her on-camera debut in Michael Gutmann's television feature "Nur für eine Nacht".

Mavie had theatre engagements in Hanover and Bochum. During a rehearsal for the play "Lulu" she broke her rib. From 2006 to 2008 she performs at the Theater Basel. Her first role there was "Roxane" in the play "Cyrano".

She worked as an interviewer for the German tv channel VIVA several times, where she interviewed celebrities such as George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ice T.

She recorded several audiobooks.

In 2004 she ranked third in the voting for the 100 Sexiest Women In The World held by the German edition of FHM magazine, just behind Britney Spears and Heidi Klum. Although Mavie has already ranked in the top 100 four times (in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006) and is widely believed to be one of the most attractive German women, she has turned down offers to pose nude for the German edition of Playboy magazine.

Mavie and the famous German author Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre fooled many boulevard magazines when they pretented to be a couple. In December 2006 she married the German Burgtheater-actor Michael Maertens.

She suffers from claustrophobia and a minor dyslexia, but still manages to take part in public readings once in a while.

She took part in protests against nuclear power plants and wearing fur.
