Mauricio "Pipo" Rodríguez(born September 12, 1945) is a former soccer player from El Salvador who represented his country at the 1970 FIFA World CupMexico and coached them to in the 1982 FIFA World Cup Spain.

Mauricio "Pipo" Rodriguez began playing soccer at the School Externado Of SanJose 1959, However he began playing professionally forAtlante in 1962 during this time he was selected for the under 20 national side. he was purchased by C.D. FAS for a year loan. He finally signed and played out his career at Universidad from 1963-1972. Mauricio was selceted for the El Salvador national football team side in 1963 and played at the world cup in 1970, however he retired from football in 1973. During his playing career helped El Salvador qualifies for the Olympics, won two championships and was goal machine.

Mauricio "Pipo" Rodríguez qualified coaching through the Category of soccer instructor association of trainers of soccer of El Salvador(Aefes) and became an Honoary Member de Lasca (association of Latin Trainers in U.S.A.). Maurico also won a Cousre FIFA in Guatemala (INST. FERNANDO LAUGHED)1975. He became coach of Sport Club University in 1975, while coaching Sport Club Molsa the team achieved promotion for the first time.

Mauricio also coached Sport Club Tapachulteca and Sport Club Chalatenango which he helped ascend up the divionsal competion and promoted to the professional league. He became the technical coach of the under 17 El Salvador National football team in 1973, he then was promoted coach of the under 23 squad in 1975. In 1981, Mauricio Rodriguez was appointed coach of the El Salvador which qualified for the 1982 world cup in spain -oddly mauricio only selected 22 players instead of 24 . However, in the world cup El Salvador team had terrible time scoring only 1 goal and letting in 13 goals. he was sacked afterwards.
