Maumee Valley Country Day School (or MVCDS', Maumee Valley or MV) is an independent and non-religious private school located in Toledo. Established in 1884 as an all-girls school, The Smead School for Girls, the school became coeducational and adapted its present location and name in the early 1930s. Today, MVCDS runs from preschool to Kindergarten through 12th grade and boasts academic achievements such as having 100% college enrollment of graduating students, and a 10:1 student teacher ratio. The school gets its name of "Maumee Valley" from the nearby Maumee river, which flows from Lake Erie and runs through the Toledo area of Lucas county and beyond.
Maumee Valley's current headmaster is Mr. Gary Boehm, formerly head of the middle school.
