Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) is a deemed university. It is one of the National Institutes of Technology of India. It was formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT).

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India (formerly Maulana Azad College of Technology, MACT), is one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges in India. The institute has been named after the great scholar, educationist and the first education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh jointly sponsored the then MACT (a Regional Engineering College) in 1960 to attract bright young students from across the country. The Institute is successfully meeting the objective of producing skilled manpower of the highest quality who is able to cope up with challenges of ever evolving industrial needs of the country.

The Institute is situated in the heart of Bhopal on southern side. The verdant 650-acre campus, on a beautiful plateau, houses, about 400 faculty and 1500 students who enjoy excellent facilities of laboratories that are well equipped. Over the past 40 years of the effective existence the laboratories have not only at attained maturity and confidence but also shaped themselves as Center for Excellence for higher education.

MANIT is situated in the heart of Bhopal on southern side. Its campus is spread over 650 acres, on a beautiful plateau. It houses, about 400 faculty and 1500 students. It has got a hostel each for each year and the from the terrace of any of the hostels, atleast two lakes can be seen, one of them being Shahpura Lake. MANIT's Computer Centre, Canteen, Workshops, Athletic Ground, Energy Centre and the open air audi are also very popular.

For the undergraduate courses the admission is through the national level engineering entrance examination - AIEEE.
For the post graduate cources the entry is through GATE or a college level entrance test
