[edit] Sandbox

Hello, Mattderojas. Could you please modify User:Mattderojas/Sandbox so that it does not place the page in inappropriate categories, like Category:Possible copyright violations? Some user pages have copyright violations and so user pages in the category cannot be ignored. Thank you, Kjkolb 07:43, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Hey, how do I do that? Mattderojas 00:00, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

I took care of it for you. I hope you don't mind. :-) First, I substituted the the templates by adding subst: to them, like {{subst:copyvio}}. After saving, {{subst:copyvio}} is replaced with the code the template is made with. Then, I removed the part of the code that put the page in the categories. Only certain templates should be substituted ordinarily. It reduces the server strain or something. It should say on the template page whether to substitute or not. -- Kjkolb 09:33, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Strange things are happening

For some strange reason, I added the two links to non-existing pages.

Oddly enough, these TV programs don't actually exist. But they are candidates for programs on the XTV network (for crying out loud, another page that I have to create. I've been spending months on this one!)

[edit] Images removed from User:Mattderojas/Box1

I removed those images from that page because they are tagged as fair use image. You are not permitted to use them in your userspace, per terms of Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. Please do not re-add them. Thanks, --Durin 12:15, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Understood. I removed a few boxes, and changed the image for one of them. Happy now? Mattderojas Mattderojas 22:34, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] And now for something completely out of whack

All right, who's been messing with my head? (no, not the userbox...) Mattderojas 14:16, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Is it me, or am I expecting a cease-and-desist letter soon?

There are a few people who I have ticked off, and who are ticking me off. The last thing I need is being banned from the whole site just because I'm not following the rules.

All my user pages are being watched for those who might place it as an article for deletion, which really is stupid because who nominates user pages for deletion?

Sorry guys, I'm only trying to help here. I'm not trying to completely screw up WP. Anyone else who gets on my nerves will expect a pouncing-on. Hey, it's also an official Wikipedia policy. I don't want to yell at anyone, but I just want to maintain my pages. They're not supposed to be messed around or changed or nominated for deletion except ONLY WHEN NECESSARY!! (See example with Durin and the now STUPID userbox!)

Oh yeah, and what the heck are "Invariant Sections," "Front-Cover Texts," and "Back-Cover Texts"? This is why I multi-license my contributions!!

Time to hide back in my Koopa shell. Mattderojas 22:34, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, and yeah I noticed that. I was like "Wtf?". Nishkid64 22:44, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editing user pages and vandalism

Following the vandalizing incident by 62.255.248.116 (talk contribs), I must ask that if you want to make any changes to my user pages (with the exception of template substitution and/or decategorization on the sandbox page), you MUST ask first on this talk page. Failure to do so will result in your edits being vandalism. Repeated incidents may result in you being reported and blocked.

I thank you for your understanding. -- M (speak/spoken) 22:11, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WKBS-TV (Philadelphia)

I see you've been involved with the problem over there regarding RMc's insistence on adding trivial information. Well, he's still doing it, and I've again contacted administrator Firsfron of Ronchester about this situation. It was Firsfron who agreed with us that the line was trivial, and removed it last night. Rollosmokes 17:15, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Let me see if I have this straight.

1) I add nine words to the WKBS-TV page; 2) Rollosmokes has a hairy conniption fit, insulting me in the process (a common reaction for this guy when someone dares edit "his" pages)); 3) I respond in kind, and 4) I get banned for "personal attacks"!

Boy, that's rich. Are you guys all on the same bowling team or something?

This has gone well beyong the WKBS-TV page; there's principle involved here, which I why I keep pursuing it.

I'm going to edit WKBS-TV one last time. The admins have a choice to make:

1) Leave it alone, or 2) Revert it yet again, which sends the message that if a user jumps up and down and waves his arms (and has the right friends), he can get his way.

Your choice, fellas. RMc 11:33, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Johnissoevil (talk contribs) did delete the reference, but on the talk page, DHowell (talk contribs) proposes to add this back in albeit without the Giants Stadium text. The discussion continues there. -- M (speak/spoken) 21:02, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:TV ARK new.png

Thanks for uploading Image:TV ARK new.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:09, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Added tag -- M (speak/spoken) 17:02, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Sfcw color.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Sfcw color.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
