[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Crab.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Crab.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] AfD nom needs completing
Based on this edit[1], it appears that you want to nominate Net-linx for deletion. However, you have not completed the nomination process as described at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion#How to list pages for deletion. You need to complete all steps listed in order to nominate an article for deletion, so that other editors are aware of the discussion and your reasons for having Net-linx deleted; however, currently only step 3 has been done. Please complete the other steps if you still want the page deleted. Thank you, and happy editing! BryanG 20:54, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
However, please note that the article does not seem meet the criteria for deletion, as "net-linx" has around 10.000 hits on google alone, including a vast number of independent publications. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.18.178.163 (talk • contribs) 05:55, 23 May 2006.
- It's your choice whether to go through with the process, also notability guidelines for corporations make no mention of Google hits as notabliity criteria. BryanG 01:23, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I agree. It doesn't state google hits, specifically. In fact it says that a company is wikipedia-worthy if
"The company or corporation has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the company itself.
This criterion excludes:
- Media re-prints of press releases, other publications where the company or corporation talks about itself, and advertising for the company. - Trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report extended shopping hours or the publications of telephone numbers and addresses in business directories. - This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, television documentaries, and published reports by consumer watchdog organizations."
Literally thousands of those non-trival, orginal published works about net-linx are picked up the google search engine, thus making the case for keeping the entry. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.18.178.163 (talk • contribs) 04:11, 24 May 2006.

[edit] Re: AfD Summary
I assume you're talking about User:Dragons flight's AfD tables, which you can find here. Absolutely a great tool that DF came up with in my opinion, as well as his RfA summary. They're updated about every hour by User:DFBot and are quite suprisingly accurate. If there's anything else you need, feel free to let me know. AmiDaniel (talk) 23:24, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thunder Bay Northern Hawks
Matt, you voted to delete a stub based on the fact that it was only 2 lines long. I'm not sure if you understand what a stub is. Basically, a stub is a place marker placed in a location on Wikipedia where an article is soon going to be built. That makes stub placing a worthwhile endeavour. I seriously hope you reconsider your vote. DMighton 02:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Gravy.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Gravy.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Note that any unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -SCEhardT 21:13, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] from Columbine massacre talk page
Added an NPOV tag, as there's alot of stories in the context which could be argued, and if you look at the edit history, alot of information has been changed to say completley different things, who knows which is right? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Matt.Hoy (talk • contribs).
- What specifically are you talking about, the entire article is backed up by several sources, and the stuff that has been changed tends to be because it was unsourced before and now it's sourced correctly to the actual event. Either way, tell us what in specifics you're speaking about because if you do not then there's no way we can fix the NPOV conflict you see. [edit] Ubuntu (Linux distribution) i686
Can you give a reference for that, because as far as I'm aware, only the kernel is provided in a 686 version, and even then, this is not automatically handled by Ubuntu and requires a deliberate, informed download by the user. I don't think having the kernel compiled for i686 is quite enough to claim that the distribution is available in 686; rather, all packages for whom source code is available and no other restrictions exist should be compiled for 686 in order to permit that claim. - Samsara (talk · contribs) 19:31, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ubuntu Edgy Eft image
Just to warn you ahead of time that your image *may* eventually get replaced with a 800*600 shot of the default setup, since these are considered more representative than customised set-ups, and work better at small sizes, i.e. thumbnails. Regards, Samsara (talk · contribs) 19:42, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I was just wondering where you got the picture of the trees in the background, it's rather nice.GBMorris 22:01, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re Image:Edgyeft.png
You should probably pick a different license for Image:Edgyeft.png. Most of the stuff onscreen is GPL software, and there's really no appropriate fair use argument for the background image, because it's not part of Ubuntu. Twinxor t 07:55, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, it does belong to Ubuntu, it comes with the Kubunt distro. Matt 19:02, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Moturescreenshot.JPG listed for deletion
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Moturescreenshot.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. [edit] Image:Edgyeft.png link
Hi. I'm really interested in the picture you posted at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Edgyeft.png. The link to the tutorial is down, could you either fix it, or tell me how directly? I have a working Ubuntu install on this machine already. thank! Please post back on my talk page!--Ryan 00:41, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Vespa - Scooter in the Sticks
Hi! Did you read the edit notes on the Vespa article for addition of external links? Before I revert, would you like to revert your edit. If you think its that important add a note to the talk page as to why, and its addition can be debated. Rgds, - Trident13 20:36, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Your website link doesn't work. I can't open the "How To"... please repair it
