Welcome

Hello "Mateuszica" and welcome to Wikipedia. A few tips for you:

By the way, Zica seems rather unclear as to why its important. The only page that links to Zica seems to be Serb Orthodox Church; should that be mentioned in the article?

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian -- Infrogmation 03:55, 18 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Indeed. Zica is currently a substub, and in danger of deletion. A proper stub needs to say clearly:

  • What is to be described by the article, that is its subject (e.g. Vanilla is an essence made from some seed pods.).
  • Why the subject is important enough to have an article (e.g. Vanilla is widely used as a flavouring in cooking.)

That's all that is really needed.

Welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you enjoy being part of the project. Andrewa 01:18, 2 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Image deletion warning The image Image:GWH-bouquet.jpg has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it will be deleted. If you have any information on the source or licensing of this image, please go there to provide the necessary information.

(I found a copy at eng.cam.ac.uk with a licence that doesn't appear to allow use by Wikipedia. If you know of a source with a suitable licence, please note it on the image page. It's a nice image and it would be nice if Wikipedia could keep it. Thanks! -- JTN 12:00, 2005 May 16 (UTC))

Toumai

I have been wondering about the copyrights of the image. It will be listed among possibly unfree images. --Eleassar777 11:49, 19 May 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:Contagemstreet.jpg. Its copyright status is unclear, so it may have to be deleted. Please leave a note on the image page about the source of the image. Thank you.

Hi, Mateus. I was wondering if you remembered where you found Image:Radiolaria3434.JPG. I can't find the original source, but it would be helpful to know what sort of radiolarians are shown. Thanks, Josh

I like to make flag in high resolution, and i found this flag on wikipedia, its the old flag of Raelism , im not a suporter of the nazism, According to official Raëlian statements, the swastika "represents infinity of time, and trace its origins to Sanskrit and Buddhist symbols, to the Chinese character for temple, and to ancient catacombs, mosques, and synagogues." I think they are a little insane.I did this flag to show how mad they are. but if anyone want to delete this. i agree with decision User:Mateuszica
This image might have not been considered for deletion if it was named Image:Raelism old flag or something to that extent, as it would be considered encyclopedic. (Please be careful what you name your files in the future.) --Wikiacc (talk) 13:40, July 28, 2005 (UTC)

Raëlian symbols

Hi, I've made a new PNG version of the Raëlian symbols image you uploaded. It is smaller in size, much cleaner and has a better resolution. Therefore I listed the original version for deletion.

  • You uploaded Image:Raelism2simbol.jpg
  • I replaced it with Image:Raelian symbols.png

Hope this is OK. A great picture, by the way! Mysid (talk) 11:58, 19 September 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Hadrocodium.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hadrocodium.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Please add a tag to let us know its copyright status. (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged imaged will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Shanel 18:05, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Salvador2323.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Salvador2323.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you created this/these image(s) yourself, you can use the {{PD-self}} tag. Thank you.Who?¿? 09:43, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

The image you uploaded, Image:Bonobo.jpg, has no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

sock puppets

hi! Wikiacc you classifed User:Mateus zica and User:Mateus-zica as my sock puppets. I really not want my name associated with sock puppets, because it looks like im trying to vandalize wikipedia , and that was not my intencion. i like wikipedia very much and im afraid to get blocked because of it.and that is the last thing i want. Can you or me deleted the users i created?

thank you so much!

Mateus Zica 01:08, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

I saw your comment on User talk:Mateus-zica and understand you created those accounts without malicious intention. The closest thing to deletion I can do is permanently block those accounts and make the userpages redirect to your user page (which I have already done). Your main account will not be blocked. Hope this helps. Wikiacc (talk) 01:13, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

Possibly accidental miscategorization of your user page

Hi, did you add your user page to a category like Category:Cosmology by mistake? If you want to add a link from your user page to that category without placing your page in the category (which would be inappropriate), you should do this: [[:Category:Cosmology]] (note the initial colon). ---CH 12:57, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Rodasamb.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Rodasamb.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 00:25, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:PleaisaidesZICA.png

Thanks for uploading Image:PleaisaidesZICA.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Shock wave

You seem to have hacked quite a bit out of this, leaving (IMHO) a rather lop-sided article. Can you please justify on talk or revert. Bob aka Linuxlad 12:06, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Xequerê

Thanks for your article on this instrument. I made a few changes in grammar (with the passive voice and with prepositions) and tried to clarify just what "uma conta" is. You had translated this as "plastic ball" and I wasn't sure if that was right. I had to get my Portuguese dictionary and saw from my notes that in 2001 when I was in Brazil, I had learned the word. Do you have plans to write more articles on Brazilian music or Afro-Brazilian culture?

I also added two more specific stubs ({{Brazil-stub}} and {{musical-instrument-stub}}) and removed the very general one {{{stub}}. In addition, I made a link to the Portuguese page: pt:Xequerê. Interlingua talk 14:17, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Tais Araujo 1.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Tais Araujo 1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. A tag has been placed on Savage Eden, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —Pilotguy (ptt) 20:36, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
