I'm pretty sure "peripatric" is not a word. It's an error. The author of the article meant "peripatetic," which means "traveling from place to place" as in "nomadic" or "itinerant." The correct term relating to evolution is "peripatetic speciation." See the article called "Punctuated Equilibrium."
