Matt Yeager is the name commonly assigned to a certain 18-year old Christian, living in Richland, Washington (USA), and attending Kamiakin High School in Kennewick as a senior. He plans to one day become a high school Spanish teacher, though it would not be wise to hold him to that.

[edit] Selected contributions
- Main article: User:Matt Yeager/Contributions
Matt Yeager has created and currently maintains many articles. The list of articles which he considers significantly improved by his presence (if he does say so himself =P) has grown to a rather large amount (seemingly dwarfing the rest of the page), and he would like to request that you take a peek at the list here if you are so inclined. If you are not so inclined, Matt Yeager would like to suggest that you jump into a lake, but being a polite sort of person, Matt Yeager would never actually say such things out loud.

[edit] Wikipedia philosophy
I think that Wikipedia ought to (eventually, in a perfect world) be 100% full of articles that a reasonably intelligent person ought to be able to stumble upon, and figure out most of what the article was talking about. I think that eventually, following enough internal links to enough stuff, a user should be able to have a reasonable amount of knowledge about a subject that they knew nothing about in the first place. I think that the encyclopedia doesn't always have to have a scholarly tone. I think that some slightly "POV" phrases (which would greatly enliven and enlighten the pages and the masses) ought to be, on occasion, thrown into places where a strict encyclopedia might not include them. (I think that this last view doesn't have much backing, and I respect the Wiki community on that regard.) I think that it wouldn't kill anyone to have a joke thrown into a long article. (Please?) I think that Wikipedia should be able to humor its readers as well as educate them. At some point I'll leave a huge diatribe about music, but for now, please, do me a favor and buy Where You Want to Be and more than you think you are if you like any sort of music at all. (Especially if you like good music.) And for heaven's sake, if you buy Louder Now (a very, very good idea), get it on iTunes and get the bonus track. It's seriously amazing. — Oh yeah... that reminds me. I think Wikipedia non-mainspace talk pages should have a greater preponderance of smileys... you can use the template I created, {{P}}, but be sure to subst it first!
Additionally, I often have some serious problems with excessive wikification, and may get very tired of it. (The blue links are pretty, though, aren't they?)
[edit] Interests
They really aren't any of your concern. However, to humor you (see?)... I like:
- Music (a lot)
- Watching sports (especially college football)
- Sleeping
- Playing video games
- Hanging with friends
- Not doing homework
- Banging on a xylophone
- Watching the lights go down
- Letting the cables sleep
- Quoting from semi-obscure songs from semi-obscure albums by semi-obscure artists and refusing to provide wikilinks for the unaware
- Being bold
- And, apparently, editing some large online encyclopedia thing (who knew?)
[edit] Special abilities
Although Matthew Yeager is unable to fly, read minds or fire lasers with his eyes, he can speak English fluently (being born and raised as a 4th or 5th or 6th or something generation American, he'd better be able to!). También, puede hablar algún español, porque él ha tomado más que tres años de la clase de español en Kamiakin High. He also is a decent Basic programmer, a competent chess player, an excellent scum and nertz player, and a really freaking good hearts and Egyptian rat screw player. He enjoys playing other games, too, such as Spider Solitaire and Advance Wars, and will also probably beat you if you play him at Monopoly or Boggle. His new addiction is kdice, and has a high (doubtlessly too high) opinion of his skills at Nertz, while easily admitting that he may well suck at Life.
He is also the inventor of Spanish leet-speak. ¿7|3/\/3 |_|573|) |_|/\/0$ |*|20813/\/\4$ [0/\/ 3$0?
[edit] In closing
I apologize for switching between 1st and 3rd person this whole article. Really, I feel just terrible about it. Well, not really. Regardless, feel free to drop me a line sometime. Whatever you say, it's all right; whatever you do, it's all good.
