Mattias Flink

Mattias Flink (born March 8, 1970) is a Swedish mass murderer who killed 7 people on June 10, 1994.

He was a Swedish Army fänrik, stationed in Falun, Sweden.

After having been dumped by his girlfriend, Flink brought his AK5 rifle and walked out on the streets of Falun, wearing his uniform. In a park he met 6 unsuspecting female soldiers and opened fire, killing 5 and severely injuring one. He also shot and killed 2 civilian men. After a shoot out with the police, Flink was finally apprehended. He had 150 rounds of ammunition, 48 hit the victims. Although declared mentally ill, Flink was sentenced to life in prison. At the time of the shootings, Flink was extremely drunk. The time before the shootings he was also very depressed and made up untrue stories about his life to his girlfriend.

In the same year there was quite similar case in Finland, when a deserter Mika Muranen shot two of his neighbours with a crossbow and one man with a assault rifle.
