Matti Pitkänen (physicist)

Matti Juhani Pitkänen (b. October 30, 1950 in Kiuruvesi, Finland) is a Finnish alternative theoretical physicist who has attempted to prove the Riemann hypothesis, worked with p-adic numbers, and proposed an unusual theory called Topological Geometrodynamics (TGD).

Matti Pitkänen began studying theoretical physics and mathematics at the University of Helsinki in 1970. In 1977, he graduated with a Master of Science in theoretical physics and in 1982, with a Licentiate in physics. He later obtained his Ph.D in theoretical physics when he successfully defended his dissertation on topological geometrodynamics.
