Matthias Witthaus (born October 11, 1982 in Oberhausen) is a field hockey player from Germany, who was a member of the Men's National Team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

The striker from German club Crefelder HTC made his international senior debut for the national team on June 3, 1999 in a friendly against Belgium in Krefeld. When he first played for Germany he was the youngest to debut and also set a record for being the youngest ever goalscorer for Germany. As of December 18, 2005, Witthaus earned 183 caps for his native country, in which he scored 61 goals. He is nicknamed Witti.
