Matthias Höfs

Matthias Höfs ( born 1965 in Lübeck, Germany ) is a German trumpeter.

1982 studies at university of music and theater in Hamburg and Karajan-academy in Berlin, reached concert examination with award.
1884 principal trumpet at Philharmonic State Orchestra Hamburg
He won many of first prices in musical competitions, e.g 1988 Hanseatic City cultural price of Lübeck, Eduard Söhring price,
1990 international music championship Markneukirchen.
He received a scholarship of German Musical Council and the Mozart Society.

Since 2000 he is professor for trumpet and chamber music at university of music and theater in Hamburg
Since 1985 he is member of German Brass ensemble. Besides to Enrique Crespo he arranges a large amount of music transcriptions for this group.
He is well-known for his outstanding performance and brilliant, limitless and virtuosic style.
