[edit] Influences
Matthew Tuck has cited Metallica as being his main musical influence. At the age of 14, Tuck discovered the band through MTV where the video for the single "Enter Sandman" by Metallica was aired, which inspired him to begin learning guitar.
He has also mentioned Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Pantera and Megadeth aswell as Doug Patten
[edit] Illness
During the November 2006 tour with As I Lay Dying, Matt Tuck suffered from laryngitis which lead to a number of shows being postponed until early January; where they then re-started the rest of their tour again, beginning on January 3, 2007, at the Carling Academy Newcastle, and also played for the first time, two of their new songs "Scream, Aim, & Fire" and "Disappear".
At Manchester Apollo the following night, they only played one new song, "Scream, Aim, & Fire". During this show and the ones to follow, support band As I Lay Dying's vocalist joined Bullet for My Valentine onstage to sing Room 409. Bootlegs of the Manchester show can be found online, and this is known as the first known recording of the song song "Scream, Aim, & Fire" as this was before the band entered the studio for the follow-up to The Poison. Also on this tour the band played a cover of Metallica's Creeping Death.
