Matthew Scott

'Matthew Scott is an Australian actor. He has appeared in leading roles in the feature films In Blood, Death is a Diamond, and Questions. He also appeared in Godzilla: Final Wars. In 2005 he released the feature film Questions which he wrote and directed. He is the older brother of director Chris Scott.
Matthew Scott was the first patient to successfully receive a hand transplant on on January 24, 1999. Scott had lost his hand in a fireworks accident at age 24. The operation was directed by University of Louisville surgeons Drs. Warren Breidenbach and Tsu-Min Tsai in cooperation with the Kleinert Hand Institute and Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
