Matthew Richardson's Beijing Lectures
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Matthew Richardson, then a British Oxford engineering undergraduate and now a masters engineering graduate and barrister, was drawn to media attention when he took up the offer of an expenses paid trip to Beijing to give a set of financial lectures. He claims to have known "next to nothing" about the subject and used an A-level text book as his notes. It is thought he was mistaken for Professor Matthew Richardson, of New York University, an expert in the field. Matthew had previously been Librarian of the Oxford Union but was disqualified from the Presidential race for taking part in a conspiracy to have the winner disqualifed on frivolous grounds.
