Matthew Polashek

Matthew Polashek (born 198_) is a contemporary saxophonist living in the New York City area. His work focuses on the development of his own real-time computer-based interactive multimedia performance system.
Polashek performs with his own group, the Matthew Polashek Exchange, and has performed and recorded with internationally renowned artists including David Liebman and Bryan Lynch. A gifted performer, composer, and arranger, Polashek has lectured on the collegiate level about contemporary music performance practices. He has performed contemporary music throughout the U.S. Polashek is also a project editor for Macmillan/McGraw-Hill.
Polashek holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, where he studied saxophone with John Salerno. He has extensive experience performing professionally on the saxophone, flute, and clarinet in a multitude of genres.
He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in music at the City University of New York.
Polashek's equipment consists of a Yamaha Custom 875 alto saxophone, a Yamaha 61 tenor saxophone, a Selmer Super Balanced Action baritone saxophone, a Buffet clarinet, and a Pearl PF401RBE flute.
