Matthew Lawton is an political columnist based in Portland, Oregon. Currently residing in Galesburg, Illinois, he writes about his home city, economics, and cultural and political issues nationwide. Primarily, he takes the stance of a moderate libertarian, but parts ways with them on issues like environmentalism, some foreign policy, and drug legalization.
