Matthew Baillie

Matthew Baillie was a Scottish physician and pathologist.

The brother of poetress Joanna Baillie, he was a pupil of John Hunter. He was educated at Hamilton Grammar School and the University of Glasgow.

Baillie specialised in morbid anatomy.

Baillie died in 1823 of tuberculosis. He is buried in Duntisbourne, Gloucestershire.
