Matte Babel

Matte Babel (born October 13, 1980) is a MuchMusic VJ in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He helps co-host Much on Demand, The IT List, and Much 911.[1]

Matt Alexandros Babel was born in the Toronto neighbourhood of North York, Ontario. He graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo with a double honors degree in communications and sociology.[1] After graduating, Matte showed up at MuchMusic and convinced the station to hire him as a VJ.[1] He changed his name to Matte sometime after 2001. - Matte Babel has lived in New York City, Atlanta, Scarborough, and Milton. He now calls Hamilton home. [1]
- Played football and basketball for the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks. Did not integrate well. [2] [3]
- He has an older brother, a younger brother, and a younger sister. [1]
- He has made several failed attempts at a rap career under the alias 'Young Babel"
