Matt Sweeney

Matt Sweeney is a guitarist/vocalist who has played in various groups, including 90s bands Skunk and Chavez. He has also played in Billy Corgan's band Zwan, filled in on bass for Guided by Voices, and collaborated with Will Oldham on their group effort 2005 album, Superwolf as well as their single I Gave You.

Sweeney produced Brooklyn, NY heavy metal band Early Man (band)'s debut album in 2005, Closing In, as well as providing backup guitars.

Sweeney's guitar playing was recently featured on rapper Cage Kennylz's 2005 album "Hell's Winter", on the first track, along with Def Jux and Cage's boss El-P and Yo La Tengo bass player James McNew, Johnny Cash's 2006 album American V: A Hundred Highways and he is currently working with Dax Riggs on the next deadboy & The Elephantmen album, to be released in 2007. He rejoined hip-hop artist El-P on his 2007 album, "I'll Sleep When You're Dead", along with with Mars Volta guitarist and lead vocalist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and Cedric Bixler-Zavala (respectively).
