Matt Murley (born December 17 1979 in Troy, New York) is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays left wing and right wing for the National Hockey League's Colorado Avalanche. He was drafted in the 2nd round (51st overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Before his professional career, Murley played college hockey for four seasons at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
In July 2006, Murley signed as a free-agent with the Avalanche and currently plays for their AHL affiliate the Albany River Rats
