Matt Green is an English professional footballer currently playing in the Football League Championship for Cardiff City.

An England schoolboy international, Green developed at Cirencester Academy under the direction of former Newport County player and Welsh international Steve Lowndes who recommended him to his former club in the summer of 2005. A pacey striker, he made a big impact in his first season, making 40 appearances for the Newport County first team. Green joined Cardiff City in January 2007 for an undisclosed fee. Matt made his debut for his new club aganist Preston North End coming on for the final few minutes as his team won 4-1 infront of Sky Sports cameras on the 23rd of February 2007.
