Matt Garrison
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Following in his father Jimmy Garrison's footsteps, Matthew Garrison has established himself as a world class bassist.
His distinctive techniques and his signature Fodera bass help make him an easily identifiable figure in the world of modern electric bass virtuosos. Although he may not share the fame of players such as Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, or Victor Wooten, he is still an influential player in modern jazz music. Furthermore, his milage jazz/world music project with Danish guitar player Niclas Knudsen is an acclaimed jazz fusion project.
He has worked with notable names such as Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Chaka Khan, Joe Zawinul, the Saturday Night Live Band, John Scofield, and Joni Mitchell.
