Matt Death and the New Intellectuals are an American rock band from Long Beach, California. They are putting a record out on Monarchy Music in the spring of 2007. Members of this band include former members of Havalina Rail Co. Matt Wignall on guitar, Erick Nieto on drums, and David Maust on organ. The bass player is Orlando Nieto, older brother to Erick.
