[edit] College and Pro Career

He then attended the University of South Dakota before going to the National Football League.

To date, he is averaging 2 tackles per game. He has returned a fumble for a touchdown and is also known for leveling streaker Mark Roberts in Super Bowl XXXVIII. He also recorded the final tackle that cemented the Pats win over the Carolina Panthers that day.

On January 5th, 2007 In between NBC's two Wild Card games,Peter King said that it is widely believed that Chatham's signing with the Jets early the prior offseason is one of the major reasons Patriots coach Bill Belichick is upset at his former Defensive coordinator and current Jets coach Eric Mangini. King said Chatham's signing with the Jets broke a code amongst the coaches in the Bill Parcells coaching tree, which says don't touch each other's players.
