Mathbaria is located at 22.2869° N 89.9667° E . It has 48139 units of house hold and total area 353.25 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Mathbaria has a population of 253915. Males constitute are 50.13% of the population, and females 49.87%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 126024.
