The Matharus (also spelt Matharoo) are a prominent Sikh Tarkhan clan found in Punjab,Northern India.

Matharus are considered to be one of the original Saka (Jatt, Tarkhan etc) Tribes. They originate from the regions of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Lahore and Ludhiana in Punjab.
