Mater Dei Primary School

The Mater Dei Catholic Primary School is located in Ashgrove, Brisbane, Australia and offers schooling for students in grades 1 to 7. It has presently enrolled approximately 250 students. There is also an active Catholic Church attached to the school community and situated on the school grounds. Many boys leave the school after grade 4 to move to the local Catholic boys college Marist College Ashgrove.

The land for the school was bought by Archbishop Duhig to be used for a Sisters of Charity Convent. This was then converted into a school.
[edit] Recent Changes
The school has recently undergone building upgrades including the building of new classrooms to accommodate for preparatory schooling beginning in 2007 and the renovation of the church attached to the school.
[edit] Dance School
A privately run dance school also operates within the community catering for jazz, tap, ballet, and contemporary dance. The dance school operates out of school hours as an extra cirricular activity.
