Mater Dei High School is a four-year Roman Catholic coeducational high school located in the New Monmouth section of Middletown Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. United States. Mater Dei operates under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton, and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association.
The school was founded in 1961 by Monsignor Robert T. Bulman, and is located on a 32-acre campus. The school attracts students from over 30 parochial, private, and public schools in Monmouth County and Middlesex County. The school maintains an average enrollment of over 400 students in grades nine through twelve, although various plans have been instituted in recent years in an attempt to increase the school's enrollment. One such tactic was the school's virtual learning program, instituted in 2005, with only seventeen students partaking in the endeavor, and a mix of unbalanced praise and criticism. In keeping with the allure technology provides, increased tuition paved way for leased laptops, which all incoming freshman receive, for strictly school related purposes, during the school year.
