Mateo Ruiz

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mateo Ruiz is a fictional character on ABC's daytime drama General Hospital. He has been portrayed by Robert LaSardo since December 18, 2006.

[edit] Character Information

Mateo Ruiz is the twin brother of Manny Ruiz, a Miami based mobster who terrorized Port Charles for over a year. Mateo and Manny spent time in prison, during which Mateo became highly religious and turned away from a life of crime upon his release. He is currently a practicing priest in Port Charles, and many are questioning whether or not he truly has changed. During the Metro Court hostage crisis, Mateo killed one of James Craig's armed gunmen in self defence, and in return was shot in the chest by another one of Craig's subbordinates.
