This is a screenshot from MATLAB, showing the Simulink toolbox in use. The display shows a demonstration simulation of a house being temperature-controlled with a thermostat.

Of the two graphs shown, the top yellow one is the house's internal temperature (oscillating as the thermostat turns heating on and off), the purple graph shows the varying outside temperature, and the lower yellow graph shows the cumulative heating expenses.
