I removed "Masquerade masks are often used to conceal identity". Masks are not particularly relevant to SF convention style masquerade competitions, which are the subject of this article. Perhaps the note was intended for Masquerade ball? Jordan Brown 23:07, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
