[edit] History

Master's Commission was founded by Rev. Larry Kerychuk in Phoenix, Arizona in 1984. with Rev. Carmen Balsamo as its first director. Trainees pledged one year of their lives to scripture memory, the study of the word, and ministry. After Pastor Balsamo's death, Rev. Lloyd Zeigler was appointed director.

The program soon multiplied throughout the country and around the world. With this growth, the need arose for a network to be established to preserve and spread the original vision. In 1995, a group of Master's Commission directors from across the United States held a meeting at the annual Master's Commission Discipleship Conference and formed the Master's Commission International Network (MCIN).

In 2006, with the blessing and encouragement of MCIN, the Foursquare Church left its affiliation with Master's Commission in order to begin their own ministry, the Emerging Leader Network.
