Master of Pastoral Theology
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Master of Pastoral Theology (M.P.Th.) is a degree offered at some universities, especially in Francophone regions of Canada, preparing students for the Christian ministry (generally the Roman Catholic or Anglican priesthood). It is similar in structure to the Master of Divinity but is only two years in length. Typically institutions which offer the MPTh also offer a four-year Bachelor of Theology that is a prerequisite for admission to the MPTh. The degree is not recognised by the Association of Theological Schools, but some churches (Roman Catholic and Anglican) accept it as an academic requirement for ordination.
