Massachusetts Route 17

The Route 17 designation was last used in the 1950s north of Danvers. At that time, what is now the Interstate 95 freeway carried the U.S. Route 1 designation, and the old U.S. 1 was numbered Route 17. Once the freeway received the I-95 designation, the old U.S. 1 route was restored.
There was also an earlier Route 17 in western Massachusetts near Great Barrington.
