Massachusetts Correctional Institution - Cedar Junction

The Massachusetts Correctional Institution - Cedar Junction (MCI-Cedar Junction) is a prison, located in Massachusetts, in the United States. It was built in the 1950s and is one of two extremely high security (Supermax) prisons for male offenders in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MCI-Cedar Junction also houses the Departmental Disciplinary Unit (DDU).

- Tom Manning was sentenced to 58 years imprisonment for a series of bombings against targets he believed represented US Imperialism.
Another notable prisoner, Albert DeSalvo, otherwise known as the Boston Strangler, was also imprisoned at Walpole; he died of multiple stab wounds during his "stay".
Richard Reed, the "Shoe-bomber" was held at Walpole, while awaiting federal prosecution.
