[edit] Stations
There are two light rail stations dubbed "Masjid Jamek", named after Masjid Jamek, one of Kuala Lumpur's oldest mosques within the area.
The first station is underground, connected to a subway strecth of the Kelana Jaya Line. The second station serves the Star LRT (both the Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines) via an elevated station above Jalan Tun Perak. Although both stations are neither located in the same building nor well connected, they both form a major interchange in the Kuala Lumpur public transport system.
The Kelana Jaya station is accessible from two entrances on both sides of Jalan Tun Perak. Unsually, the two platforms in the Ampang/Sri Petaling station are essentially disconnected from each other, have their own ticket counters with Jalan Tun Perak sandwich between.
The Medan Pasar hub, an important bus interchange in Kuala Lumpur, is a 200 metre walk away. There is also a facility for purchasing and reloading the Touch 'n Go card in this station.
[edit] Station development
A new project to link the Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line with Kelana Jaya Line has been started to make transfer more convenient. [1]
