Masaichi Niimi

Masaichi Niimi (新見政一, February 4, 1887 - April 2, 1993) was a General of Japanese Navy during the World War II period, who commanded the Japanese Invasion of Hong Kong. Unlike Takashi Sakai, he managed to evade execution for his involvement in the war.

  • 1939 - became Rear Admiral
  • 1941-1942 - 2nd China Expeditionary Fleet
  • 1942 - becomes Vice Admiral
  • 1942 - assigned to Maizuru Naval District
  • 1943 - becomes Vice Admiral
